Hi, I just wanted to point out a new site with children's book app critiques, called Curating Book App Mom (www.curatingbookappmom.com) which hopes to become a reference for librarians and teachers. This blog aims to provide high standards in judging interactivity, storyline, illustrations, originality, age-appropiateness, educational value, and creative use of the iPad's possibilities. It's aim is not be a "TV-Guide" all-inclusive type of web that mentions every new book app coming out, but rather a selection of book app titles with at least an intermediate- to good-level of quality, so that parents, teachers, and librarian can form a great collection for their kids! Apart from using individual posts for each book app critique, there are also comparisons of similar book titles, when considering book apps from public-domain content. As of mid-October 2011 there are some 30 book app reviews in there already, with another 30 (pending for review) coming up! Thanks for visiting the site, and if you find it worthwhile, please follow!
