Stuck not knowing where to start to develop a mobile-friendly website for your library?  Check out this fabulous article: “library/mobile: Tips on Designing and Developing Mobile Web Sites.” Appearing in September’s Code4Lib Journal (an exclusively online journal that kicks tushie, by the way), it was written by Kim Griggs, Laurie M. Bridges, and Hannah Gascho Rempel.  The article lists specific steps you can take to make your library website and applications mobile-friendly, including design issues and specific code, like how to detect if someone’s using a mobile device when connecting to your site and how to point them to an alternative mobile-site.  The article also includes specifics about what Oregon State University Library has been doing with their own apps.  A good jumping-off point for anyone new to mobile sites and apps.
