Dealing with a bit of over-extension on the social media front?  Read “How to Get Any Work Done (When Connecting Is Your Job)” by Sonia Simone on the Remarkable Communication blog.  For many library staff, at least a small part of your job is connecting with customers online.  And when that’s the case, how do you do this effectively and efficiently?  How do you not put yourself in the position of one interviewee in the article who only sleeps 4 hours a night?  Simone has some suggestions.  And if you’re feeling the brunt of information overload in general, check out my article on Ariadne: “Being Wired of Being Tired: 10 Ways to Cope with Information Overload.” Another great article is from ReadWriteWeb: “Groups: Turn Information Overload Into an Asset.” I think the concept of info overload as a good thing is a bit foreign to most of us, but it is not that far fetched.  Information is a good thing, librarians….remember?
