A while back, zdnet posted a worthwhile and extensive article about the 10 Leading Platforms for Creating Online Communities, by Dion Hinchcliffe.  Drupal and Joomla were listed, as were some new tools I hadn’t ever heard of.  SharePoint Community Builder was listed (the only commercial product in the top 10).  The author listed some of the other tools that didn’t make the top 10 too, so the list is actually quite extensive.  Great to consult if you’re planning on creating a new website for yourself or your library, or even a small presence for your book club or historical society.  The web is a wondrous place.
