Internet Librarian 2008: SharePoint for Libraries: Streamlining Your Intranet Management
Shannon Staley and I presented a session at Internet Librarian on using SharePoint: SharePoint for Libraries: Streamlining Your Intranet Management. Usually I post these as PDFs, but this was requested from me in advance by a few people intact as a PowerPoint. It is sizable (just over 2MB), so the download will take a while. The SharePoint cheat sheets we use here at the San Jose Public Library & San Jose State University Library are also posted below. Finally, this is included in the presentation but bears repeating: the online training (short video clips) that we use are from CBT Clips and we're pretty happy with them.

The link to the PPT seems to go to a cheat sheet as well. Love to see the PPT when the link is fixed.

One little problem – when I click the link for the PowerPoint, I just get the Owners Word file again.

I’m interested in reading the PPT presentation but the link to it actually points to the Site Owners cheat sheet at http://librarianinblack.typepad.com/librarianinblack/files/SharePoint_CheatSheet_Site_Owners.doc
The below two links, which are labeled as being the Site Owners cheat sheet and the Site Members cheat sheet, both actually point to the Site Members cheat sheet.

I think you have the wrong link for your presentation. It seems to be the link for the owners document.

Thanks for this post and providing the documents above. The library I work for is in the process of transferring our intranet to the SharePoint Server. The cheat sheets will be really helpful for me in my work to develop training for our employees. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.

I was at the presentation, and thought that there was a comparison chart for knowledge management solutions so that one could compare SharePoint to other products. When I arrived, the handouts were all gone. Or am I imagining this???

Nope, no comparison chart between different systems. In the PowerPoint there is a screenshot from the Microsoft website comparison between the different SharePoint versions. And the handouts were the Cheat Sheets linked in the post.
