RFP blog

March 12, 2008

In looking for sample RFPs (requests for proposals) for an upcoming project, I ran across this gem of a site: the Request for Proposal Database Blog.  A collection of RFPs found online, they are organized by category so you can pull examples of what you need really easily.  A gem of a site that I’m glad I found.  Incidentally, TechSoup has a full-on sample RFP (in PDF) that real newbies could use as a starter template.

“RFP blog”

  1. David Kutcher Says:

Not to correct a great post on my site, but the real site is the RFP Database which is located at http://www.rfpdb.com

The blog site is a mini-listing of some of the RFPs that have been submitted to our site and a way for us to connect with “the blogosphere”.

    Thank you for the mention!

  2. Sarah Houghton-Jan (Librarian in Black) Says:

And thanks for the correction, David! It’s an awesome resource.

  3. Janet Says:

This post was quite timely, as I am just about to start looking for a firm to conduct a library customer survey. But, boy, was I put off by all the stuff about “credits,” “punishment,” and “redemption.” All I wanted to do was see an example of an appropriate RFP…now I’m scared it’s gonna go on my “permanent record”!!

  4. David Kutcher Says:

    Don’t be scared!

The site is simple: when you register we give you the ability to download 2 projects for free (4 credits, 2 credits necessary per download). We don’t want people uploading junk or registering with fake names… those are the only times we “punish” people.

It’s a community portal, but unfortunately open systems can attract people that aren’t always honorable. We encourage them to go away by demoting them.
