Review of my blog

July 11, 2006

A complimentary and favorable review of my blog was posted on the Recommended Web Tools blog.  At the risk of sounding self-aggrandizing, I did want to cite one quote from the review, which I think applies to many library and librarian blogs, which is why I note it here:

Since the blog deals directly with practical application in a real setting, there is very little theory or fluff. For LIB, the question always is “Will it work in a library context?”

That’s what we librarians are good at.  We look at information, tools, and services within the context of our environment, be it flesh-world or virtual-world.  We contextualize things–we gather, process, and disseminate information in a usable format.  I’m just happy someone else noticed besides us :)
