We all get an evilish hard math question from time to time at the reference desk, be it physical or virtual, and when we do we thank ourselves for choosing librarianship as a career instaed of one of those careers involving daily math equations. 

However, we still have to guide the students in the right direction and offer them helpful resources.  Add this one to your list: Purplemath.   Purplemath offers a wealth of help with algebra problems of all types, as well as links to other sites with free tutorials, quizzes, solving software (ooh, wish they had that while I was young), and other useful mathy things.
