The Institute of Museum and Library Services and the National Endowment for the Arts are collaborating on "The Big Read."  Cities and other communities throughout the U.S. are invited to participate in the 2007 Big Read project, which will be awarding grants to over 100 communities to help them conduct reading promotion programs.
