  1. Go to the Cibo Italian Restaurant, just across the street from the convention center.  Good food.
  2. Walk down to Cannery Row and take a stroll through the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
  3. Get some good falafel at the Petra Cafe, just down the street from the convention center (across the street a block, and then to the right).
  4. Go see MirrorMask just down the street at the theater (a beautiful piece of cinema…bound to be a cult fantasy classic like Labyrinth and Dark Crystal).
  5. Drive a half-hour south to Big Sur (enjoy the excellent views along the coast) to Nepenthe, a restaurant with the best view I’ve ever seen.
  6. Oh yes, and Il05speak
  7. (two panel sessions tomorrow for the Public Libraries track).

“Cool things to do at Internet Librarian”

  1. Doug Mason Says:

So far I have only accomplished one thing on your list, which was to see one of the two panels you were on… your presentation on using practical web apps and methods for building websites for small libraries was fantastic! It validated many of the things I have been wanting to do, like get our web-link handouts up on the web in linkable pdf format (expedient for everyone involved). I have always thought that everything informational that we put out in paper should be up on the web, obviously. Your successful examples will help significantly. Thanks! Ouch, too many adverbs. Now I can try the falafel at Petra (which I bypassed last night). You are a trusted source!
