Mmmm….Star Trek phone

Sona Mobile & Viacom have teamed up to offer a Star Trek communicator-esque mobile device. Details are still a bit vague, but we’ll find out what neat features are included when the phone is released September 30th. If I hadn’t just bought a new phone, this would be on my to-buy list. Darn my lousy timing!

Classic Trek communicator style phone? Been there, done that. We call them flip phones or clamshells. What I’d be interested in is a communicator badge like in ST:TNG. Particularly the kind that know when I stop talking to whomever over the communicator and am making snide remarks about them to my companions.

I too would line up for this phone if I hadn’t just bought one.
I’ve compromised with my inner geek, and set my new flip phone’s ringtone to the original series’ communicator sound.
And this is from me, who generally detests any and all ringtones. I’m such a hypocrite. I guess my geekiness trumps decency
