Librarians With Class

September 30, 2005

New blog alert!  Librarians With Class is promising as a useful resource for librarians who do training (me me me me me).  Couldn’t find a feed, but I’d like to see one!  There is a feed.  It’s just not linked from the site.

    Try this one: http://libswithclass.blogspot.com/atom.xml

I might be doing training next year (it’s still very much a maybe), so I’ve started reading up on it. Any suggestions?

  2. Sarah Houghton (LiB) Says:

Thank you Bentley! I should have tried that (I know Blogger does those auto atom feeds but I forget from time to time). So, you say you’re doing training next year. For who? At what kind of institution? What kinds of suggestions are you looking for?

  3. Brenda Says:

We have now linked to the feed. Thanks for checking out the blog!

Librarians Without Borders

September 23, 2005

Today Librarians Without Borders celebrated the launch of their first project: a medical and nursing library in war-ravaged Angola.  The group is based at the Faculty of Media and Information Studies at the University of Western Ontario (UWO) in London, Ontario (good ol’ Canada).  Congratulations!

Yeah, they’re a solid bunch who run LWB. I’ve had the good fortune to meet those behind the project, and have no doubt it will be a huge success. NextGen at its finest!

And cheers to UWO – my MLIS alma matar – fabulous program, well worth looking into for anyone thinking of doing the MLIS down the road.
