Google WiFi

September 30, 2005

Google Wireless is apparently pending in New York and San Francisco.  Google is not really talking about it yet, and analysts have expressed concerns that Google is moving outside its safety zone into being a service provider.  Is this a good thing?  LJ Tech Blogger Robin Hastings asks libraries to think about whether or not this city-wide WiFi would affect how your library provides (or doesn’t provide) wireless in the library.   Anyone from SFPL or NYPL have any comments on this?
