Filtering software: reviewed by Consumer Reports
May 18, 2005
I am not a filtering expert. All I know is that while they are fallible, they are not oh-so-evil and worthless as some people think. If, like me, you don’t know a lot about filtering but would like to learn more, check out the Consumer Reports article on the various filtering software available, complete with one of those handy ratings charts that CR is famous for. I really appreciate Jessamyn’s recommendation that if your library is going to implement filtering software on your public use computers, a full-disclosure patron information campaign is in order.
