LiB’s view

April 22, 2005

This is the view from my house.  Doesn’t it make you want to move to Marin County, California?

  1. Meredith Says:

Oh that’s just cruel! It’s rainy and cold today and Chicago, and, even on the best day here, I’d rather be in Marin County! Grrrr…

  2. Sarah Houghton (Librarian in Black) Says:

Ah, and originally being from Chicago, that makes me laugh all the more :)

  3. Doug K Says:

I always wanted to move to Marin County.. lived in Sacramento for a bit, is as close as I ever got. Ah well. Denver’s not bad (and we have a wonderful librarian for Douglas County, Jamie LaRue,
    http://www.douglascountylibraries.org/
    )

  4. Anonymous Says:

Smog and people living on top of one another?

    No thanks.

  5. Sarah Houghton (Librarian in Black) Says:

Actually, that’s not smog. I’ve never seen smog in Marin in the 3 years I’ve been here. Smoke from the forest fires up north for a few days once. But never smog.

And Marin County is 86% preserved open space. Those hills in the distance, and the mountain behind them (Mt. Tamalpais) have no houses on them. This view is in San Rafael, the biggest town in Marin. I can drive for 5 minutes or walk for 10, and be in the middle of open space, no roads or traffic nearby.

  6. david Says:

i hate you. can i come visit?? :)

  7. Amy Proni Says:

You are one lucky librarian, Sarah. That’s a super view. How big is your guest room?

  8. Sarah Houghton (Librarian in Black) Says:

We can easily accomodate four guests at a time, but LiB (and her partner & cat) are not currently accepting applications for visitors. Sorry ;)
