Hmmm, does this FoxTrot comic rub anybody else the wrong way? Lib is nearly in a tizzy… not in a tizzy anymore, but still somewhat out of sorts that this is the aspect of our profession that gets highlighted…oh well.

Person at the desk, “Sir, this is the library.”

and very close to an incident that happened when I worked in a college library.

Wince. I keep trying to get somebody to name a band “The Loud Librarians”. I regularly ask patrons to speak up at the reference desk. The whispering thing drives me mad. But they don’t whisper into their cell phones. There are days when I consider wearing a bun and half glasses. But I’ve never shushed anyone yet.
