Doctor Who, now?

December 9, 2004

Doctor Who (oh blessed British Sci-Fi genius) is returning this spring.  Well, a new Doctor Who, but a Doctor Who nonetheless.  You can view a teaser on BBC’s site if you’d like to whet your appetite a bit…and I do mean just a bit.  The teaser is only 27 seconds long, but does use Orbital‘s Doctor Who theme remix (which is frelling awesome by the way).  I rock out to that routinely while driving.  Anyway, I can’t wait for the new series…I think I might just start watching TV again!

Well, I guess if you get the BBC channel you’ll watch (I don’t, despite ever escalating cable costs…grrr!). That teaser sounded a lot like a snip from the Tom Baker era. Of all who took on the role, he will always be THE Doctor. ;)

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!

i was obsessssssed with dr. who as a kid, to the point of a)writing my own scripts b)buying a tom baker scarf c)collecting all the Target paperbacks d)e)f)g)… the list goes on. i have met like 18 different dr. who stars and have the pictures to prove it. there’s not much i can say i’m totally psyched about. i may have to move in with my sister in london just so i can watch this (or, pay for satellite tv i guess…)

Stumbled onto your site looking for reviews of “The Librarian” — I’m an AV geek for our library and am being forced to work late on a Sunday to show it on the LCD projector in our theatre for our Youth Services dept’s enjoyment. Ugh.

But your site has cheered me up considerably. A tech-geeky goth librarian who loves Doctor Who? You’ve stolen my heart, miss.

Hmm, maybe we’ll do a showing of the new Who premiere in our theatre, and I’ll make Youth Services work for it… a scarf-knitting craft? A Doctor Who storytime(“The Three Daleks Gruff”)? Ooo, I know: Sontaran fingerplays!

    Remixes. Need I say more?

Well, maybe that it seems the Beeb is remaking the show.
