These things just won’t die! And there’s probably a good reason, as they fill a niche that hasn’t been filled by anything else yet. Again, in no particular order:

  • Analog watches
  • Dot-matrix printers
  • Tyepwriters
  • Broadcast radio
  • Pagers
  • Reel-to-reel tape
  • Vacuum tubes
  • Fax machines
  • Mainframe computers
  • Fortran
